From the hypothesis that both social and technological innovations have the potential to reinforce the sustainability, profitability and resilience of pastoral family farms, the PASTINNOVA Project has showed that Pastoral Business Models can valorise their full potential as drivers of the agro-ecological transition in livestock production in the Mediterranean region. They should therefore be supported by strong public policies at the transnational (including European), national and regional levels. PASTINNOVA aims   to shed light on the policies, strategies and orientations to be undertaken to work towards this transition and recognize the multi-sectorial (social, economic, environmental) role of pastoral activities. PASTINNOVA has prepared a White Paper on Mediterranean Pastoralism to raise awareness about the diverse forms of pastoralism prevalent in the region and the support they require.

From Living Laboratories meetings in Corsica (France), the Sétif region in Algeria and the Adana region in Turkey, the webinar presents a comparative analysis of the public policies in action in these three areas and how the White Paper could help Policy makers to define their own strategies.
