Pastoral systems are usually considered unviable and their position in the agri-food system is questioned. PASTINNOVA project has carried out an integrated socioeconomic assessment of different pastoral sheep systems and typologies across seven Mediterranean countries. This webinar presents the results of this analysis and aims to provide responses to crucial questions regarding the ability of pastoral systems to support the livelihoods of pastoral people; the role of income support; and ways forward for pastoral systems with Innovations and Business Models to support them. This analysis at the Mediterranean level will provide key socioeconomic indicators that can help to establish better financial and technical support. The session is part of a webinar series organized within the framework of the PASTINNOVA project.
